EHang Partners with University of Zaragoza and University of Guangzhou to Establish Joint Laboratory for Low-Altitude Flight Safety




Zaragoza, Spain, March 5, 2025 — EHang (Nasdaq: EH), the world’s leading Urban Air Mobility (“UAM”) technology platform company, has signed a collaboration agreement with the University of Zaragoza in Spain and the University of Guangzhou in China to establish the Joint Laboratory for Low-Altitude Flight Safety. The signing took place at Zaragoza City Hall in the presence of Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Committee, and the Mayor of Zaragoza.

As a leader in the UAM sector, EHang will contribute its expertise in passenger transportation, logistics, and smart city management. The University of Zaragoza will provide its strengths in automation and control engineering, while the University of Guangzhou will bring its multidisciplinary knowledge in intelligent transportation and the low-altitude economy. Together, the three partners will build a platform for research, innovation, education, and industry cooperation in the fields of low-altitude flight management and the low-altitude economy. The Joint Laboratory will drive international academic exchange, talent development, and cutting-edge research in low-altitude flight safety to contribute to the thriving global development of Urban Air Mobility.

 

The signing ceremony took place during the visit of the Guangzhou municipal delegation to Zaragoza, Spain, led by Mr. Yonghang Guo, Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Committee. The event was attended by Mayor Ms. Natalia Chueca of Zaragoza and Secretary of Guangzhou Municipal Committee, Mr. Yonghang Guo, with the memorandum of cooperation signed by Mr. José Antonio Mayoral, President of the University of Zaragoza; Mr. Ouyang Qian, Secretary of the University of Guangzhou; and Ms. Victoria Jing Xiang, Chief Operating Officer for EHang Europe and Latin America. This milestone marks a new chapter in the collaboration between EHang and the cities of Guangzhou and Zaragoza.

Guangzhou and Zaragoza are both strategic partner cities for EHang’s UAM initiatives. China’s low-altitude economy has grown rapidly in recent years, presenting immense market potential. According to the Civil Aviation Administration of China, the sector is projected to reach 1.5 trillion yuan in market size by 2025 and could surpass 3.5 trillion yuan by 2035. As a pioneer and leader in the low-altitude economy, EHang has made significant strides in this field. Through its collaboration with the University of Zaragoza and the University of Guangzhou, EHang will bring its expertise in developing China’s low-altitude economy to Spain, contributing to the sector’s expansion in Europe.
